RCA will look to extend their lead in the STL Northern League

Have your say

THERE are only three STL Northern League First Division games scheduled for tonight but the outcome will have a bearing on the top of the table.

Leaders Sunderland RCA, with a seven-point advantage over Whitley Bay, line up against bottom six side Marske United at Meadow Park with manager Neil Hixon anxious to continue in winning form.

So far, the Wearsiders have won nine and drawn two of their 11 games and are one of only three unbeaten sides.

Second top Whitley Bay don’t play until tomorrow giving Dunston UTS and West Auckland the chance to leapfrog the Seahorses.

UTS are at home to Newcastle Benfield who have slipped into the bottom half of the table following recent results.

West Auckland are fourth, two points behind Whitley Bay and Dunston and they are favourites against Guisborough Town who are now in the bottom three.

Ashington are at Vauxhall Motors for the FA Cup second qualifying round replay after the sides shared six goals at Woodhorn Lane at the weekend.
