SUNDERLAND Women will host Cardiff City or Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Sunday, February 10.
The Lady Black Cats will have to wait until a week on Sunday to see which team they face after the Cardiff-Brighton tie was postponed at the weekend because of the weather.
Sunderland, the cup holders, powered through by beating Sheffield 7-2 at Eppleton CW on Sunday, with striker Beth Mead leading the way with a hat-trick.
The home draw is a bonus for Sunderland with their opponents facing a long trip.
Cardiff are seventh in the ten-team National Premier League, which Sunderland lead by two points, while Brighton are fourth in the Southern Division.
The draw also sees a likely quarter-final clash between Sunderland’s title rivals Leeds and Watford, who have to beat Charlton to seal a trip to Yorkshire in the last eight.
Premier League Cup quarter final draw:
Leeds United v Watford or Charlton Athletic
Portsmouth Ladies or Manchester City v Barnet FC
Wolves or Blackburn Rovers v Coventry City or Aston Villa
Sunderland v Cardiff City or Brighton & Hove Albion
