Seaham Red Star boss Mark Collingwood was almost left speechless after his side lost 2-0 at home to West Allotment Celtic in the Ebac Northern League First Division last night.

Red Star squandered a host of chances throughout and paid a heavy price.

Seaham opportunities came and went before David Henderson made the breaktrhough for Allotment, beating two defenders then driving wide of keeper Shaun Newbrook.

He was again on target for the visitors’ second goal, pouncing on a rebound. Star boss Collingwood said: “We’ve had enough chances to win four or five games.”

In Division Two, Tow Law Town moved top with a 1-0 victory at Thornaby, Daniel Quinn nettingl.

Brandon United lost 4-1 at Darlington RA, whose matchwinners were Chris Tarn (2) and Danny Pigg (2). Andrew Clarkson replied for Brandon, who have managed one point from a possible 12.
