IN Division One, Sunderland RCA went down 2-1 to visitors Crook Town on Saturday.
Adam Nichols headed past Jonathan Carmichael for the opening goal on 61 minutes.
With two minutes left, Robbie Bird doubled Crook’s lead with a clinical finish from the edge of the penalty area, but, a minute later, Nathan Wilson set up an exciting finale when he drove past Barry Poskett from 18 yards.
Shildon moved into pole position with victory at Durham City, where Ben Wood scored the winner in stoppage time.
Paul Connor was a fifth-minute marksman for the visitors and after Steven Turnbull levelled, Jack Walker was unlucky to turn a Darren Craddock header into his own goal for Shildon’s second.
City roared back, with Denver Morris driving in the equaliser at 2-2, but, after failing to convert three reasonable chances, the Citizens paid the penalty as Wood pounced on a blocked clearance for the winner.
Celtic Nation were deposed as leaders after going down at Bishop Auckland, who are now up to fift.
Following a fairly uneventful first half, the game sprang to life on 75 minutes when ex-Ryhope CW striker John Butler side-stepped three defenders and delivered an absolutely stunning drive from the edge of the penalty area for the only goal.
Two minutes later, Bishop goalkeeper Scott Pocklington was sent off and, on 84 minutes, Celtic’s Paul Johnson was also red-carded. The Cumbrians then went down to nine men with Willie Gibson’s dismissal in injury time.
