KEPIER Academy girls ore off to the Etihad!
The Year 7 and Year 8 football teams from the Houghton school have reached the final of the Premier League for Sport competition, where they will represent Sunderland AFC.
The finals will be played at Manchester City’s ground in May.
In the qualifying event, Kepier beat Shotton Hall, Hetton and St Robert of Newminster schools in the group stage.
They then defeated Biddick School 2-0 in the semi-final before triumphing 3-2 over St Anthony’s in the final, at the Goals Soccer Centre at Bede College.
Subject leader for PE Miss Booth said: “This is the third year in a row our girls football teams have represented SAFC in the final of this prestigious competition.
“I am hoping this year, after reaching the semi-final last year at Anfield, we can go one stage further.”
