HETTON Lyons CC hope to land the second leg of a double in Sunday’s Durham County Sunday Cup final.
Lyons, who have fended off Kelloe WMC to win the Swinburne Maddison Durham Sunday League’s Premier Division title. tackle Stockton Hardwick in the County final at Seaham Red Star on Sunday (2pm).
Boss Stuie Gooden is determined to land the prestigious silverware.
He said: “We haven’t won the County Cup since 2010, when we made it five wins on the trot in the competition, so it would be great to get the trophy back in the club.
“We’ve had a great finish to the season, so we’re looking forward to the final. Since Christmas, we’ve played really well.
“Stockton Hardwick will be a tough game, but we are confident going into the final and hope for a big crowd to help us out.”
Lyons have no injury worries and Gooden and assistants Alan Pearson and Glen McCartney have an 18-man squad to choose from.
