WHITEHAVEN have appealed to the FA after being relegated out of the Ebac Northern League.
The Cumbrian club were officially demoted at Saturday’s annual meeting for “failing to meet ground criteria”, allowing Esh Winning to escape the drop despite having finished bottom of Division Two last season.
Whitehaven’s appeal will be heard by the FA at Wembley on Tuesday, June 24.
The annual meeting welcomed Ryhope CW back to the Northern League a year after they were relegated over ground criteria, the Wearsiders having finished as runners-up in the Wearside League and going up because champions Stockton Town withdrew their promotion application.
Ryhope will start the new season on Saturday, August 9 with a trip to newly-relegated Billingham Town, while Washington host Norton & Stockton Ancients and Seaham Red Star, who narrowly missed out on promotion last term, away to Heaton Stannington.
In Division One, Sunderland RCA kick off away to Durham City.
Both divisions will have 22 teams next season meaning league campaigns of 42 matches.
H The annual JR Cleator Cup game will see First Division champions Spennymoor Town hosting League Cup winners Marske United at the Brewery Field on August 2.
