The Teessiders came hard at the Buffs, but came up against a solid backline and, when they did get through, keeper Scott Cresswell pulled off three great stops.

Pelton looked out on their feet with 15 minutes to go, but the introduction of Matthew Smith and Luke Kerry freshen things up and, soon after the fourth official showed seven minutes injury time, the pair linked up for Kerry to slot a clinching second goal.

Mark Peck and keeper Cresswell were outstanding.

Buffs had the better of arch-rivals Newton Aycliffe WMC for two of their biggest days, thumping them 4-0 in the Ramside final and then demolishing their hosts 6-0 in a sensational title decider, delighting a big travelling support, with Chris Winn’s hat-trick featuring two brilliant firsty-half goals and a penalty past stand-in keeper Warren Byrne, after the keeper was sent off. Cameron Nichol’s brace and a Mickle strike sealed the title in style.
