THREE league clubs progressed into the quarter-finals of the Durham County Sunday Cup.
Hetton Lyons Cricket Club won through 4-3 at Hylton Castle TWR in a topsy turvy clash.
Two-goal Conor Winter and Robbie Bird steered Lyons into a 3-0 lead inside 37 minutes, but the Sunderland side hit back with a goal before the break then levelled thanks to two goals in three minutes. An inspired substitution saw Nicky Kane hit Lyons’ winner with four minutes to go.
Pelton RAOB lost 2-0 at Norton George & Dragon, who host Lyons in the last eight next weekend.
Newton Aycliffe WMC edged a 4-3 victory at Winlaton Commercial, while Pearson, Newby and an own goal helped Sedgefield St Edmund’s win 3-2 at Greenside.
