DARLINGTON 1883 moved three points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik League’s First Division North with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Spennymoor Town last night.

Graeme Armstrong’s early header proved the difference between the sides in front of an impressive crowd of 1,637 at Heritage Park.

Former Sunderland reserve Adam Mitchell was man of the match for the Quakers after an impressive all-round display, with Darlo thankful to Gary Brown for a goal-line clearance.
