JILL Scott scored twice last night to put England Women on the brink of qualifying for Euro 2013.
England won 4-0 in Slovenia, and now need to win their final game at home to bottom side Croatia in September to seal their place in the finals in Sweden next year.
Wearsider Scott set England on their way last night with a first half double.
She opened the scoring on 29 minutes, finishing from close range after the Slovenians failed to properly deal with a corner from Rachel Yankey.
The 25-year-old doubled the lead just before the break, keeping cool to slot home after finding space on the edge of the box.
Substitute Karen Carney, who replaced Ellen White, skipped through to get the third goal on 54 minutes and Rachel Williams nodded home the fourth goal from close range.
It could have been more for England, who created a hatful of chances.
One fell to England’s other Wearsider Steph Houghton, whose downward header from a corner was cleared off the line.
