PRESTON North End striker Jordan Hugill comes straight into the Hartlepool United side to face Cambridge United at Victoria Park.

The 22-year-old joined on loan on Thursday morning and will make his debut alongside Jonathan Franks up front as manager Ronnie Moore makes one change.

Hugill replaces Ryan Bird, who was recalled by Cambridge earlier in the week.

Moore keeps faith with the 3-5-2 formation, with Scott Harrison fit to play despite taking a heavy knock in last week’s 1-0 win over Mansfield Town.

That win pushed Pools to within one point of safety, with eight games left to play.

There is no place again for Jack Compton, Marvin Morgan or Tommy Miller.

Ex-Pools loanee Ryan Donaldson starts for the Us, while Michael Nelson is on the bench alongside Matteo Lanzoni, former Pools loanee.

Pools (3-5-2): Flinders (C), Austin, Harrison, Mirfin, D Jones, Duckworth, Featherstone, Walker, Tshibola, Hugill, Franks.

Subs: Maxted, Richards, Hawkins, J Jones, Nelson-Addy, Harewood, Smith.

Cambridge (4-4-2): Dunn, Tait, Coulson, Miller (C), Dunk, Donaldson, Champion, Hughes, Hunt, Elliott, Harrold.

Subs: Slew, Lanzoni, Norris, Simpson, Nelson, Morrissey, Kaikai.

Referee: Andy Haines (Tyne & Wear)
