CARETAKER boss Sam Collins has made one change to his Hartlepool United side for this afternoon’s match at Exeter City.

Matthew Bates returns to the side at St James Park and will start the match in central midfield, with Collins again opting for a 4-3-3 formation.

On-loan Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke leads the line, with support from Ryan Brobbel and Lewis Hawkins.

There is no place in the squad for Marlon Harewood, who was not included in the 2-1 defeat at home to Sheffield United on Tuesday either.

On-loan Boro defender David Atkinson has travelled and is on the bench after missing the last couple of matches with a hamstring injury.

Pools go into the game bottom of Sky Bet League Two, while Exeter - who have won their last four league matches - are 14th.
