HARTLEPOOL United fans were far from impressed with their side’s 3-1 defeat away to Accrington Stanley.

Poolies were quick to send in their #TerraceTweets following the loss which left Pools second bottom of Sky Bet League Two.

Read comments from the fans below plus player ratings from SportMail’s Richard Mennear.

Player Ratings:

Scott Flinders: 5. Captain again. Couldn’t do much with any of the goals, one a fine finish, a free header and close range shot but needs to command more.

Michael Duckworth: 6. Steady away at right-back, as ever, and almost gave Pools the lead in the 7th minute with a decent effort.

Neil Austin: 5. Defence was opened up too easily for the first goal and Austin won’t have been happy.

Scott Harrison: 6. MOM. Won his share of headers and tackles. Was booked. Made several huge clearances. Not many contenders for MOM though.

Dan Jones: 6. Always looking to get down the left flank. His huge long throw caused problems at times.

Tommy Miller: 5. Game bypassed Miller at times in the first half. Always encouraging the younger players through the game though.

Matthew Bates: 5. Scored a decent goal with a flicked header. Was steady enough in the middle but is a too pedestrian at times.

Michael Woods: 6. Started in central midfield, then pushed up front before going wide right. Kept plugging away but needs to create more.

Ryan Brobbel: 5. Got an assist for Bates’ goal with a good free-kick. Needs more end product in open play though. Was subbed early into second-half.

Lewis Hawkins: 5. Not as impressive as recent matches, plenty of endeavour but didn’t do much when he had the ball. Subbed in second-half.

Charlie Wyke: 5. Didn’t really impact the first-half, although didn’t have much service. Was ill and was subbed at half-time.

Subs:

Matt Crooks: 6. Is a big unit and won his fair share of headers when he came on at half-time. Had a decent touch as well and almost scored but couldn’t connect properly.

Jonathan Franks: 6. Played up front alongside Crooks. Was feeding on scraps up top.

Connor Smith: 6. Plenty of effort from the livewire winger.

@RichMennearJP went down to Accrington & the goals conceded were a shambles. No complaints if 11 changes. Worrying times ahead
