HARTLEPOOL United will not be adding to their squad - unless they receive a gift from another club.
Striker Marlon Harewood will be their only permanent addition following his release from Bristol City.
And Colin Cooper says there will be no further loan signings unless “something comes out of the blue that’s free”
The Pools boss has a budget to adhere to and the business he has done thus far accounts for his kitty.
And Cooper hopes to persuade Middlesbrough and Manchester United to extend the loan stays of Luke Williams and Jack Barmby.
“We wil want to try to keep them here a bit longer but, ultimately, it will be Middlesbrough and Manchester United’s desicion,” he said.
“It will be handy if our conversations with those clubs are positive and we can keep them as long as we can.
“That would probably see our budget out.”
The only way Pools could get a new arrival would be if a club sent them a player they wanted to receive exposure.
Cooper added: “There are clubs out there who may have players they want (league) football putting in to.
“Sometimes it’s not about finance, it’s the ability you have to be able to put a player into a league team that tries to play good football.
“We can make calls and let it be known that we can still give opportunities to players, providing there is no financial contribution on our part.”
