HARTLEPOOL United chief Mick Wadsworth blasted his players for letting themselves down in yesterday’s 3-0 defeat at Notts County and then declared – “It’s time for change”.
The Pools manager had toyed with the idea of shuffling his pack for the televised clash at Meadow Lane.
In the end, though, he sided with same line-up who were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
But, after an abject display, by far the worst of the campaign so far, Wadsworth revealed that some players would be dropped for Saturday’s League One visit of Wycombe.
“Is it time for change? Yeah, for sure,” he said after watching Pools suffer their first away reverse of the season.
“We’re not getting anything from various areas of the pitch.
“I’m not going to name names – that would be unfair – because it was a collective cock-up.
“We’ve had a fairly settled rhythm the past few weeks, but this is the one where we say ‘right, it’s time to do something else now’.
“One, two, or three of them might be disappointed next week because they were in and now they’re out.”
