Ronnie Moore cut a frustrated figure after Hartlepool United slipped to a 3-1 defeat at promotion hopefuls Mansfield Town.
Pools looked well in contention when a 37th-minute home own goal made it 1-1 at the interval.
Matt Green had given the Stags the lead just past the mid-point of the first period but the OG put Pools back in it.
But Pools were never at the races in the second half, with sub Adi Yussuf and Green taking the game beyond Moore's team.
"It is frustrating, there's no doubt about it," said Moore.
"I don't think there was anything in the game in the first half.
"We started pretty brightly, we kept the ball better and moved it better.
"I thought we did pretty well without that final ball in the box.
"But at 1-1 we were back in the game and at half-time we talked a good game about what we were going to do.
"The annoying thing is they have not had to work for their goals."
