HARTLEPOOL United have sent two youngsters out on loan in order to gain first-team experience.

Midfielder Kieran Green, 17, has signed for Evo-Stik League First Division North outfit Spennymoor Town and will go straight in to their squad for tomorrow’s home game against Droylsden.

Green is highly-rated at Pools, with Sam Collins handing him his senior debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Sheffield United last month, when Collins was in caretaker charge.

Meanwhile, centre-back Josh Nearney has joined Darlington on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old signed professional terms with Pools in the summer but is still waiting on his first team debut.

Manager Paul Murray has been keen for him to get some senior football under his belt and he has made the move to non-league Darlington.

Nearney, a regular in the reserves, joined the club at Under 16 level from Wallsend Boys Club.

He goes straight into the Quakers’ squad for their home game against Clitheroe this weekend.
