HARTLEPOOL United have re-signed Scott Harrison on a month’s loan from Sunderland.

Harrison impressed for Pools during the final weeks of last season after replacing Christain Burgess following the Middlesbrough defender’s campaign-ending injury in the 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth.

Both central defenders have remained on boss Colin Cooper’s radar though the departure of Burgess from Boro to Peterborough ended hopes of regaining the services of the 22-year-old.

But Cooper has sealed a deal for the 20-year-old Black Cats prospect, who played for Sunderland U21 in their agonising 1-0 defeat by Liverpool on Tuesday night.

The Middlesbrough-born centre-half has been given the number 26 jersey by Pools and will be in the squad for Saturday’s match at Wimbledon.
