GOALKEEPER Jon Maxted has become Hartlepool United’s second signing of the day to provide much-needed cover to Scott Flinders.
The 21-year-old former Doncaster Rovers stopper has been training with the club for the past couple of weeks and featured in reserve team matches against Gateshead and Middlesbrough.
Bringing in another keeper was a priority for Murray as the club had been without a recognised Number 2 since Andy Rafferty left in August.
Maxted played against Pools in a pre-season friendly this summer, featuring for Bradford Park Avenue.
He is now a Pools player and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s League Two match at home to York City.
Maxted will wear squad number 30.
