HOME is where the heart is for Marty Dolan, and tomorrow, he hopes that’s where the points are.
Dolan will be paired with Simon Walton in the Hartlepool United midfield for tomorrow’s League Two clash with Plymouth Argyle at Victoria Park.
Dolan was outstanding in Pools’ 3-0 win at Exeter last Saturday after recovering from a groin problem which had ruled him out of the victories at Mansfield and Sheffield United.
Dolan says he and Pools want to put on an action replay tomorrow – and on Tuesday against AFC Wimbledon.
“It’s a brilliant chance to come to the Vic and show the home fans exactly what we’ve been doing away,” said the on-loan Middlesbrough midfielder.
“The lads are full of confidence and all we want to do is put the exact same performance on at home.
“We’ll do that tomorrow, I have no doubts about it, and Tuesday as well hopefully.
“I feel, personally, I have a lot more to offer. I did not expect to get put straight back in after the way the lads had played the two games before.
“But the gaffer showed his faith in me and I’d like to think I repaid him.
“I was pleased with the way I played and it was a great win for the team.
“It was a good performance and result on the back of what had already been a fabulous week.”
Dolan will be part of an unchanged Pools starting line-up tomorrow.
The only selection poser for boss Colin Cooper is whether to recall Steve Howard to the match-day 18.
The giant centre-forward has been sidelined for the last three games after the controversial red card he collected in injury time of the 3-1 home defeat to Oxford.
But it is difficult to see the Pools boss even altering the bench given the way his squad has performed over the last 270 minutes of football.
Plymouth boss John Sheridan is set to stick with the same side which drew 1-1 with Portsmouth last weekend.
