BRAD Walker has signed a new contract at Hartlepool United.
The Billingham teenager enjoyed an outstanding debut season at Pools after boss Colin Cooper and then assistant Craig Hignett promoted him from the youth team, where he was the side’s main goal-getter.
But Walker made a midfield spot his own and produced some brilliant form – and goals – which attracted the attention of a number of high-profile clubs.
Pools offered the 18-year-old a new and improved deal which he has now put pen to paper to.
Walker was last season selected for two England U18 squad camps and also was given the LFE Apprentice of the Year for League Two at the Annual Football League awards in London.
It is a huge boost for Pools, especially at a time when there is uncertainty over another teenage star, Luke James.
