FORMER Sunderland, Leeds and Rangers striker David Healy is one of 16 players to be released by Bury following their relegation to League Two.
Injuries restricted the Northern Ireland legend to just 19 appearances this term after signing last summer, and he scored only once.
Bury, who expect positive news regarding new investment, have also ditched defender Efe Sodje, midfielder Tom Soares and striker Craig Fagan among others. Steven Schumacher, meanwhile, has joined Fleetwood.
Manager Kevin Blackwell has only eight contracted players left, including ex-Sunderland keeper Trevor Carson.
