CONCEDING two goals in the opening 23 minutes proved too much for Durham City at Radcliffe Borough.
Ben Wharton opened the scoring after Lewis Graham parried an effort from Matthew Chadwick.
City then conceded a penalty. Gary Shaw brought down Chadwick and Reece Kelly gave Graham no chance.
City were also given a penalty when Kelly tripped Stephen Thompson, who took the kick himself to put his side back into the game.
Sam Grimshaw rattled the City crossbar before Radcliffe added their third goal six minutes from time, with Tom Brooks firing into the top corner.
City did storm back in the closing stages to claim a second goal in added time from Amar Purewal, who headed in a Craig Harbord free-kick.
