CALLUM Roberts capped a memorable few days by firing Newcastle United into the next round of the Under-21 Premier League Cup.
The forward netted twice in tonight’s 2-1 extra-time win over Crewe Alexandra at Whitley Park.
The match-winning performance from North Shields-born Roberts, 17, followed a call into the first-team squad for the weekend’s Premier League game against Queens Park Rangers.

Roberts put Peter Beardsley’s side into a 39th-minute lead after good work from Alex Gilliead on the right.
George Cooper levelled for Crewe midway through the second half to put the game into extra-time.
But Roberts decided the Round of 32 tie with after expertly taking down a left-wing cross from subsitute Olivier Kemen and beating Scott Shearer.
