Ex-Sunderland boss Reid dismisses Southampton link
Peter Reid has dismissed reports he is set to become the manager of League One side Southampton and insisted he is happy in his role as head coach of the Thailand national team.
The former England midfielder, who previously managed Sunderland, Leeds and Coventry City, is contracted until 2012 with the South East Asians.
Reid took charge of Thailand in September last year and has proved relatively successful in his first stint in charge of a national team having suffered just two defeats in 13 competitive games.
The 53-year-old played for the Saints during the 1993/94 season but quashed suggestions he is set for a return to the club.
"I'd like to say that I know nothing about the reports and they were just speculation from England," Reid told the Bangkok Post.
"I am happy to be the head coach of the Thai national team."
