PHILADELPHIA have pulled off a coup by engaging Jonathan Agnew to be the speaker at their annual dinner.
Following successful events with Graham Gooch and Andrew Strauss in the last two years, chairman Malcolm Pratt is delighted to have signed up Agnew.
Pratt said: “Aggers played for Leicestershire and had three Test matches and three ODIs for England before going into broadcasting.
“He’s very popular on Test Match Special and I’m sure he will be another big hit at our annual money-raising dinner.”
The event will be held at the Chilton Country Pub and Hotel on Thursday, September 4. Tickets, priced £35 (£350 for a table of 10) can be bought on 0191 3890484.
