Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy tops bill for Eppleton’s annual dinner

FORMER Liverpool and Sunderland footballer Alan Kennedy will be the guest speaker in Eppleton Cricket Club’s annual sportsman’s night.

The Wearside-born former left-back lifted the European Cup twice during his days at Anfield, scoring the winner in the 1981 final against Real Madrid.

Kennedy made more than 500 appearances, over 22 years, and also included stints at Newcastle, Wigan and Hartlepool.

Comedian Tony Roscoe is also on the bill, with the evening hosted by Ian Kitchen.

The event takes place in the Church Road clubhouse on Friday, May 15 at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are £15 and include a pie and peas supper.
