AUSTRALIAN cricket legend Jeff Thomson is coming to the North East.
The fast bowling star of the 1970s is the guest speaker at Durham City Cricket Club’s big evening at Pittington’s Hallgarth Manor Hotel on Thursday, June 30.
Thomson, who bowled the fastest ever recorded delivery on his way to 200 wickets for Australia, will relive his glory days alongside Dennis Lillee in his talk. His first Ashes series in 1974/75, when he took 33 English wickets, may also come up!
Local comedian Brendan Healy will also entertain the audience.
Tickets, including a curry supper (alternative available on request) are £25, with full tables still available. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 07764 606771.
