Burnmoor eased to a 34-run win over visitors Ryhope in the Durham Cricket Board Under-18 League’s Second Division.

Liam Burgess top-scored with 32 for Moor in their 20-over total of 70-6 as Leyton Watts enjoyed a tremendous game with the ball, snaffling 4-22. Owen Vaughan and David Kirtley also struck.

Ryhope, though, found life even tougher in their response, succumbing for 36 in 18.2 overs.

Kristian Jefferson stole the show with 4-12, backed by two wickets apiece from Burgess and Sam Hughes.

In Division One, Chester-le-Street went down by three runs in a thrilling finish at Peterlee. Ben Brown (34, with three fours) and Buck (29, with five boundaries) led Peterlee to 121-8 in 20 overs as Bethany Walker came up trumps with 4-31 and James Hindmarsh grabbed 2-30

Chester slipped to 19-3 before Ollie Barrett (63, with five fours) and Thomas Cullen (25) turned the game around, with a 92-run partnership. Chester lost momentum when both were dismissed and ended on 118-5 as Peterlee clung on for victory. Dunn took 2-9.

Boldon ran out eight-wicket victors against Sacriston, who posted 136-5, inspired by Dom Scott’s 58-ball 67, which featured six fours and two sixes).

Daniel Stephenson added 23, with Matthew Groombridge, Kyle Groombridge and Fraser Longstaff all taking wickets.

Joseph Forster hit five fours and two sixes in 48 not out, as Boldon won with 23 balls to spare. Oliver Sampson-Barnes fired a 39-ball 57, with nine fours and a six.

Harry Iveson and Nathan Hall both took wickets.
