EPPLETON outgunned Sunderland by nine wickets in the Durham Cricket Board Under-18s Central Division at Ashbrooke.
Sunderland, put into bat, posted 79-8 from 20 overs, with Aidan Dixon top-scoring on 30 from 44 balls.
Jake Pratt again changed the game with his leg spin, bagging four wickets for only five runs, along with a run out.
Eppleton knocked off the target in 15.2 overs, losing only one wicket. Charlie Ord (29) and Joe Blacklock (27) led the way for the Hetton side, with Braydn Davis adding 18. Joe Stuart bagged Sunderland’s only wicket.
In the South East Division, Dale Shaw (79) and Niall Cowell (41) helped Seaham Harbour to 160-4, with J. Dick striking twice, but Ryhope won an epic clash by seven wickets as J. Tomlin (56no) and C. Lemon (49) did the damage, helped by 16 apiece from M. Curtley and N. Bennett.
Easington enjoyed a 54-run success against Seaham Park.
Jonathan Archer was unbeaten on 60, backed by Chris Robson (42no) and Nathan Fenwick (28) as Easington totalled 148-1, Andrew Mackenzie taking the only wicket. In reply, Bradley Robinson carried his bat for a battling, unbeaten 43, but no other batsman reached double figures as the visitors fell well short on 94-9.
Ryan Barrow, Kieran Mitchell and Chris Roibson each took two wickets.
Jake McCoy (3-21) and R. Wood (3-15) impressed with the ball as Horden restricted Peterlee to 81-7, then Wood’s 33 not out hurried Horden home by nine wickets.
