EPPLETON Under-11s overcame neighbours Hetton Lyons by five wickets to reach the final of the Durham Cricket Board Central Division’s Pete Burlinson Cup.
Lyons lost the toss and were put into bat, with Logan Barton (25) and Jack Hutchinson (16) top-scoring in their 84-5 off 20 overs.
Opener Jake Pratt’s unbeaten 27 then steered Eppleton home, backed by 14 apiece from Hollie Forsyth and Ryan Wardle, while Taylor Vout picked up 2-10.
Eppleton await the winners of Durham City’s semi-final against Chester-le-Street.
Earlier, Eppleton beat Sacriston by 94 runs, with Layla Tipton (38) and Kristian Jefferson (24) leading the way. Pratt grabbed sensational figures of 5-8 as Sacriston were outgunned, with Jefferson bagging 3-4.
