Eppleton youngsters Layla Tipton and Hollie Forsyth combined to steer Durham County Under-13 girls to a stunning 200-run success in the ECB U13 County League B Division.
Tipton hit a brilliant, unbeaten 141 in 107 balls, including 21 fours and a six, and was well supported in an astonishing 200-run partnership by 77 from clubmate Forsyth, who had 12 fours in a 68-ball knock. Durham posted 261-6 from 35 overs, with Cumbria then bowled out for 61 in just 27.5 overs as Imogen Stout (2-4) and Kelsey Potter (2-5) struck.
Durham U15 girls, meanwhile, went down by 41 runs to Cumbria at Eppleton.
The visitors made 125-5, with Bailey Wanless, Helen Fenby, Jessica Woolston and Rosie Grant all striking for Durham.
Venetia Bradley (30 off 37 balls) top-scored for Durham, but her wicket signalled a downfall and they struggled to 84 all out, Alys Beadle (16) being the only other batter to reach double figures.
Durham’s scheduled second game of the day, against Northumberland, was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
