Durham Under-17s are on a high after three emphatic ECB County Cup victories.
Durham first outgunned Lancashire by four wickets at Westhoughton. Lancashire were all out for 142 in 41.4 overs after winning the toss.
Haidar Shafiq was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 4-34, while Matthew Potts picked up 3-21. Ross Greenwell led the way with an unbeaten 69 from 116 balls to lead Durham to victory in 41.5 overs while Jamie Dass made 34.
Durham enjoyed their second victory at Bramhall against Cheshire, by 61 runs.
Durham made 233-8 in 50 overs. Greenwell maintained his form with 53 from 75 balls, including seven fours, while Chris McBride added 25 before Scott Steel hit 61 in 68 balls, with four fours and a six, backed by 22 from Eddie Hurst. Liam Trevaskis dismissed both Cheshire openers to record 2-15 while Liam Burgess picked up 3-40 and Piers Davison grabbed 2-32.
Durham picked up their third win, sinking Yorkshire at Burnopfield in a reduced 35-over game.
Jamie Dass led the way with 43 in 54 balls, backed by Tom Hewison (28) and Potts (23). Trevaskis scored 27 at No 8 to help reach 166 all out. Liam Burgess then took 3-16 as Yorkshire, who lost both openers in the first over, struggled to 102 all out, with Trevaskis and Steel each striking twice.
* The North East Premier League U15s succumbed to a nine-wicket defeat to the Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League at Hunwick in the opening round of the Durham Youth Trust Trophy.
The NEPL were bowled out for just 60 in 14.1 overs, with Matthew Brown (11) the only batsman to reach double figures. Matthew Oswell took 4-19. The NTSL won in 11.1 overs as Mohsin Mukhtar made an unbeaten 28 in 30 balls, backed by Patrick Cooper (26).
