DURHAM’S team spirit can lead them to another County Championship victory – that’s the verdict of batsman Michael Di Venuto, writes Gary Foster.
Geoff Cook’s side return to four-day action tomorrow with Somerset the visitors to the Emirates ICG, and Tasmanian Di Venuto is calling on everyone to keep playing their part.
“We have been very pleased with the way things have gone as a whole,” he said. “But we need to keep on pushing ourselves, and everyone has to make sure they don’t take their foot off the gas.
“The pleasing thing is that isn’t just one or two people who are doing the business on the field.
“We have had quite a few players getting tons, and a couple getting five-fers with the ball, which is great for us.
“We have also seen some good partnerships with the bat, which is a positive for us.”
