DURHAM cricket coach Geoff Cook is making “steady progress” in hospital, the club have announced.
Cook suffered a heart attack last Thursday after being out on a run.
The 61-year-old had been in a coma in Durham City’s Dryburn Hospital, with the former Northants and England opener’s condition described as “critical”.
However, Durham CCC today released a statement, saying: Durham County Cricket Club can confirm that Geoff Cook has recovered consciousness and is now making steady progress in hospital.
“His family have asked us to thank all of the very many people whose messages of support have given such encouragement.”
