DURHAM’S t20 match against Nottinghamshire was abandoned last night with steady rain ensuring the covers never came off.
The Independence Day event between the Jets and Outlaws at the Emirates ICG was scheduled to be one of the high-point evenings of Durham’s calendar.
But the weather ruined any chance of that and the game, due to start at 5.30pm was eventually abandoned just under two hours later.
The teams share the points but Durham, who had won their previous two t20s, will be disappointed to miss out on the chance of making a bigger push towards the play-off places.
Durham’s next game is four-day County Championship game against Yorkshire which begins on Monday at Headingley.
Their next t20 game is also against Yorkshire, at the Emirates ICG next Friday, July 11 with that game due to get underway at 5.30pm.
