EPPLETON enjoyed a nine-wicket win over Sunderland in the Benfield DCB Junior U15 League’s Central Division.
Louis Dinsdale’s excellent knock of 49 top-scored as the Ashbrooke youngsters were all out for 98, after they lost the key wicket of Paul Woolston to the second ball of the innings.
Nyle Davis bagged 3-15 for the Church Road side, while Layla Tipton offered great support (3-27). Joe Blacklock’s 42 not out helped Eppleton home on 99-1, with Jordan McGill adding an unbeaten 39.
Philadelphia made 82-5, but Chester-le-Street eased home by eight wickets on 83-2, thanks largely to Josh O’Brien (35) and Joe Riley (32).
In the South East Division, Bennett’s fine innings of 44 helped them them defeat Seaham Harbour (86-7) by six wickets.
H Eppleton Under-11s won there first game of the season, beating Sunderland by nine runs.
Callum Smiles (16) top-scored in Eppletons, match-winning 76-7, with Ben Colley (11) best for the Ashbrooke team, who ended on 67-9. Josh Hutchinson grabbed two wickets, while Layla Tipton forced two run-outs.
