ANTH Skelton produced an excellent comeback in the Seaham Knack Premier League when he recovered from 3-0 down to beat Alan Smith 5-3.

Smith started strongly as he took the first three legs, including an 18-darter, but two maximums helped Skelton claw his way back to secure a dramatic victory.

Steve Skinner was on top form as he ended Neil Richardson’s three-game unbeaten run with a comprehensive 5-0 win, with best legs of 18 and 21 darts (twice).

Eddie Ashman won a titanic battle with Graham Mullen as he strengthened his claim for third place with a 5-2 win. Ashman enjoyed two maximums and winning legs of 14, 15, 17 and 19 darts. Mullen won his legs in 20 and 21 darts.

Earlier, Mullen was pushed all the way by Eddie Guy before taking the deciding eighth leg to win 5-3.

Mullen hit three 180s and a best leg of 15 darts, while Guy’s best response was a 16-darter.

However, Guy did win the deciding leg later in the night when he overcame John Squire 5-3.

Neil Mather was pushed all the way by the improving Barry Rutherford, but a tremendous 136 checkout in the deciding 18-dart leg saw Mather edge home.

Ronnie Gill fought off a comeback from John Redpath after Gill had stormed into a 4-0 lead.

Redpath battled back to take the next three and force the decider, but Gill prevailed to move within one point of seventh-placed Redpath.

Anthony Gale opened up with an excellent 13-darter, but he was made to wait until the deciding leg before claiming victory as he edged out Spiller Henderson 5-3.

Kevin Guy had best legs of 18 and 19 (twice) darts as he eased to a 5-0 win over Martin Price. Paul Williams won by the same scoreline against Ray Malarkey with winning legs of 17 (twice), 19, 21 and 22 darts.
