Sunderland ABC hosts its first show of the season with a return to the club’s roots.
The show take place this Friday at the Steels Social Club, Peacock Street, Pallion, Sunderland.
The club is where Sunderland ABC started their first boxing shows many years ago.
Now the club is returning and is hoping the show will be a huge success.
The show will be putting on local talent with some promising prospects.
Travis Waters, who is showing to have huge potential since turning senior, will be taking on Tom Cowling from South Normanton in Derbyshire at 69kg, Joel Hassan, who is currently on the England pathway boxing team, taking on the ruggered Dominic Ross from South Durham at 69kg.
The young talented national schoolboy champion Wallace Mcleod is taking on J. Hughes of Burmantofts, Leeds.
The show will also be hosting the senior and junior development finals, which rolled over from the weekend at Aycliffe Leisure Centre.
Sunderland ABC new prospect Brandon Mould showed his class in the class B finals, winning the North East Development Championships, and goes into the quarter finals at Birtley next weekend as he takes on North West champion William Attack from Timperley.
Hot prospect and Sunderland ABC starlet Kieran MacDonald, now a permanent GB Podium boxer, has been selected to represent Great Britain in Finland in the Tammer Tournament from October 20-24.
Kieran, who won the National Senior England title in his first attempt after blasting his way to the championship title, is now looking to stamp his mark on the interrnational stage.
The best boxer of the night will receive the Steve Austin Trophy.
The former club boxer, who continues to be Sunderland ABC’s main sponsor, and now lives in Tobago where he runs his engineering company, again has kindly donated the main sponsor trophy for the night.
Admission to the show is £15 for adults and £10 for under 10-year-olds.
