TOMMY Ward will face an action replay of his last fight when he boxes on the same show as brother Martin’s world title challenge next week.
The undefeated 19-year-old will box Kas Hussain at the Metro Radio Arena, just down the road in Newcastle from the Centre for Sport where he beat the Sheffield fighter back in December.
Tommy, like Martin, is trained by Neil Fannan and managed by Dave Garside, and has been benefitting from sparring with Tshifhiwa Munyai and Michael Ramabeletsa, who have been assisting with his brother’s IBF bantamweight challenge against Stuart Hall a week on Saturday.
“I think Tommy was a bit frustrated to be going over old ground with Hussain,” said Fannan.
“He wanted someone better, someone who would give him a bit of fear.
“But Tommty realises next Saturday is Martin’s night and he’s OK with the fight he has in front of him now.
“He’s sparred with Tshi and Michael and those spars are better than any fight he’s had.
“Tommy’s looked very good and the bigger fights will come.”
