Sunderland ABC boxer Kiaran Macdonald will fight at the GB Boxing Championships on Thursday.
The competition, which features four women’s bouts and 10 for men, will see the winners of this year’s GB Elite Three Nations competition take on a boxer from the GB Boxing squad to identify the GB Boxing Champion for 2016.
The event is held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Macdonald, already part of the GB squad, will take on Scot Aqueel Ahmed in the 49kg weight division.
Gateshead’s Calum French is also in action, taking on English Three Nations champion Cory Oregan in the 60kg division.
