Sunderland could miss out on Mathieu Debuchy after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger suggested he is unlikely to move today.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce had been hoping to land the former Newcastle United right-back on loan.

Sunderland were facing competition from fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa for the signature of Debuchy, but it now looks less likely he will leave.

Wenger said: "Debuchy could go, but at the moment it doesn't look like it."
