WEYNAY GHEBRESILASIE popped up again in the Newcastle Sunshine 5k Run on Wednesday, just two days after finishing fourth in the Great North Gateshead 10k.
The 19-year-old Sunderland Harrier (right) won convincingly, in what was a slow time for the Eritrean Olympian, of 15 minutes exactly. Clubmate Alan Knebel was second in a personal best of 18.20, with former Harrier Alan Hodgson, now with Tyne Bridge, third in 18.20.
Jarrow and Hebburn’s Angela Hunter was first woman in seventh (19.07).
H Morpeth Lewis Timmins won the New Marske 5k, on a new course in 15.08. Sunderland Harrier Kevin Calvert was second (15.38).
Nathan Reed recorded a personal best at Stretford in finishing sixth in the B 1500m (3.57.22), His Sunderland Harrier clubmate Oliver James recorded 1.55.60 in tenth in the 800m B event.
