A Sunderland city centre restaurant is to allow those taking part in this weekend's 10k and half marathon events to store their belongings inside the premises.
Elizabeth's Restaurant, in Bridge Street, next to St Mary's Church, will be open from 9am on Sunday to allow runners to drop off their bags, which will be left in a securely locked room in the building.
Mandy Roche, whose husband Michael is the owner of Elizabeth's, said: "We've got tickets for people which we'll give them when they drop their coats and bags off.
"It's a big day for the city and hopefully plenty of runners will use our service."
The cost of leaving of belongings at Elizabeth's will be £1 per person - and all of the proceeds will go to Help For Heroes.
The Sunderland City 10k is set to begin at 10am on Sunday, with the half marathon due to get underway at 10.25am.
About 4,000 runners are set to take part across both runs, which start and end at Keel Square, close to the former Vaux site.
