JOHN Allan bounced back from a demoralising defeat to produce a much-improved performance as he climbed off the bottom of Seaham’s Knack Premier League.
Allan had the edge in a hard-fought battle with Dave Brown, winning 6-3 helped by a best leg of 20 darts and two 21-darters.
Kevin Guy was in fine form as he beat Alan Smith 6-1 to stay second top. He had 18 scores of 100 or more, plus a 127 checkout and best legs of 15, 18 and 19 (twice) .
John Nicholson won a 10-leg affair with Neil “Rhino” Richardson and took advantage of Neil Mather’s absence to open up a five-point gap as he looks to cement his top-eight place. Nicholson hit a maximum and two 18-darters.
Paul Williams continued his surge towards the title with yet another faultless display in a 6-0 drubbing of Anthony Gale, with a brilliant 13-dart leg featuring three successive 140s. He also had a 16-dart leg and two 18-darters.
Neil Rose trailed to Barry Rutherford before reeling off six straight legs with a maximum and legs in 15 and 16 darts his best efforts.
John Redpath had a best leg of 17 darts as he overcame Spiller Henderson 6-2, while two 20-darters helped Steve Skinner whitewash Dave Brown 6-0.
Ray Malarkey paid for some missed doubles as Anth Skelton played through the pain barrier with back trouble to win 6-1.
