Yorke, Carlos make a point

Trinidad and Tobago forced an excellent point from Saturday's tough Concacaf qualifying Group A clash in Guatemala.
Sunderland veteran Dwight Yorke and winger Carlos Edwards both played the full 90 minutes, but the Soca Warriors – reduced to ten men following Cyd Gray's first-half sending-off – had to settle for a hard-fought 0-0 draw in Guatemala, following on from last month's 1-1 draw with the same side.

The point leaves T&T behind Guatemala on goal difference in the fight for the section's second slot in the final qualifying phase.

The USA are already through with four wins from four games ahead of their visit to Trinidad on Wednesday.

Yorke and Edwards could certainly have done with the presence of Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones, who had to watch while he undergoes the final stages of his recuperation from injury.

The top two in each of the three groups will reach next year's final six-team qualifying section, from which three sides will qualify automatically for the finals in South Africa in 2010 and the fourth-placed team enters a play-off against the fifth-top South American side.

T&T possibly have the edge on rivals Guatemala as they entertain the Americans, while Guatemala must visit the States for their final tie.
