Roy Keane doesn't do "meaningless" when it comes to football games and you can bet he is desperate to get one over Arsenal on Sunday.
For Sunderland fans, too, a victory would make a difference going into the summer.

We all remember the Gunners coming here and dismantling Mick McCarthy's Sunderland at the end of the terrible 2002-03 season.

At least it can't get any worse, we all thought. But it did.

To have survival secured in time for this game is a huge relief, but a defeat's a defeat and no-one wants to end on one.

There is talk Arsene Wenger will send out his young Gunners – a team that was good enough to get to the Carling Cup final. Any Wenger side will be strong.

While meaningless is not a word associated with Keane, you could also say that of sentiment.

I wonder, though, if he'll make sure Dwight Yorke plays some part against Arsenal. The manager will talk with his former Manchester United colleague next week and, reading between the lines, a coaching role may be on the table.

But I would expect Sunday to be Yorke's farewell to Wearside and the Premier League.

His influence may have been less obvious this term, but we could be witnessing the end of one of the most prominent players of the Premier League era. I hope Yorke gets the send-off he deserves as an entertainer who played with a smile on his face.

It would be nice to see him off with one more big win, but I'm not sure.

Prediction: Arsenal win
