It was the second low-key friendly during new coach Giovanni Trapattoni's training camp in the Algarve, which ends on Thursday before more testing friendlies with Serbia in Dublin on Saturday and Colombia at Craven Cottage, London, on May 29.

Glenn Whelan, Darren Potter and Andy Keogh got the goals against Lagos, but the margin of victory could and should have been greater.

Republic of Ireland: J Murphy (Westwood 65); Kelly (Foley 60), Bruce, McShane, Delaney (Miller 82); Duff (Scannell 65), Potter (Garvan 46), Whelan (Rowlands 75), Hunt (McPhail 57); Doyle (Long 62), Keogh (D Murphy 70).
