The £2million former Arsenal man (pictured) is part of a 19-strong Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad flying to the Far East for the Intercontinental Cup.

Ireland will face Iraq on Thursday in their group opener, before meeting hosts Malaysia next Saturday and Nigeria on Monday, May 19.

The top two in each group win through to the semi-finals. The other section features Argentina, Australia, Croatia and Ghana.
